Have you ever read a book and thought, “What would this character actually do if they lived in the real world?” Well, I did, and I gave some of my favorite fictional characters real-world jobs. Some of these jobs make perfect sense, while others are… questionable. But honestly, I think they all fit their characters in one way or another.

Jacks — Luxury Hotel Owner 

Jacks would own the most luxurious hotel ever. Everyone would want to stay there, but no one would really know what goes on behind the scenes.

Scarlett — Event Planner 

Scarlett is an overthinker and a  planner, so she would  be the type of event planner who has every single detail figured out weeks in advance.

Julian — Professional Liar 

Julian lies A LOT, and  he’s actually really good at it. At this point, lying is basically his talent.

Jameson — YouTuber 

Jameson would be a huge and super popular YouTuber. His videos would probably be full of crazy challenges, competitions, and things that are way more risky than they need to be.

Avery — Financial Analyst 

Avery is really smart when it comes to money, so I think she’d actually enjoy being a financial analyst. She’d probably be the person everyone goes to when they need help with their finances.

Evangeline — Dreams Come True Academy Owner 

Evangeline would own a Dreams Come True Academy where she helps people achieve their dreams, believe in themselves, and stay hopeful. She lives on hope, so she’d definitely teach other people how to do the same.

Kai — Model

Kai would be a model because he knows how to pose and always looks confident in front of a camera. He’d definitely know exactly how to work a photoshoot.

Jude — Businesswoman 

Jude really knows how to make deals and can be extremely convincing, so I think she’d be a really successful businesswoman. She’d probably never walk away from a negotiation without getting something she wants.

Cardan — Musician 

I think Cardan would be a really good musician. I can just imagine him making music and somehow becoming really popular.

Katniss — Professional Archer 

Katniss is obviously really good at archery, and that is some serious talent. She’d definitely be a professional archer in the real world.

Finnick — Lifeguard 

He’s got the looks, the talent, and the personality. I can just imagine Finnick being the lifeguard at a beach, and everyone would definitely notice him.

Trystan — Superhero 

This completely contrasts with his fictional role, but I can totally see it. He has everything you could want in a superhero: he’s powerful, has magic, is handsome, and is funny.

America — Celebrity 

Honestly, I don’t even have a deep reason for this one. Her name just immediately makes me think of America’s Got Talent, so I feel like she has to be a celebrity.

Maxon — Prince 

He’s a prince in the books, so I think he should be a prince in real life too. Some things just make sense.

Cassie — Detective 

With her natural profiling ability and the way she pieces everything together, being a detective just fits Cassie perfectly.

Blair — Influencer / make up artist

Blair has the style and the vibe for it. She’s totally influencer material, and I can just imagine her having thousands of posts and being obsessed with taking pictures.

So, those are the jobs I think my favorite fictional characters would have if they lived in the real world. Some are pretty obvious, while others are definitely more random—but I think they all fit!
