Caraval — Book Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really loved Caraval. It was amazing—the world, the characters, the mystery, and especially the confusion between what is real and what is simply part of the game. It was honestly just perfect.

 The World of Caraval

My favorite thing about Caraval was definitely the world itself. It is so magical that you can almost imagine yourself actually being there. The game itself is also so original and unique, which made the whole story even more interesting.

Stephanie Garber’s descriptions make the world incredibly easy to imagine. One thing I especially loved was the way she describes the characters’ clothing. She doesn’t just say what they’re wearing—she describes the fabric, the shade, the material, and all the little details. I could actually picture what the characters looked like and what they were wearing.

The mysterious feeling throughout the entire story was another thing I loved. You never completely know what is real and what isn’t, which makes you constantly question what is actually happening.

 The Mystery & Plot

I really enjoyed trying to figure out what was going on. I loved putting together the pieces, following the clues, and trying to understand what was actually happening.

The twists were so surprising, and the story kept me guessing. The pacing was also really good. Nothing felt unnecessarily slow, which made it easy to stay interested.

One of the most interesting parts of the plot to me was Legend, the master of Caraval. There is so much mystery surrounding him that I constantly wanted to know more.

 The Characters

I thought both sisters were great. You can clearly see how strong their bond is and how much they love each other, even though they are very different.

Tella is more rebellious and playful, and she can also be a little selfish. Scarlett, on the other hand, is more overprotective. She is also strong, and I really loved her personality.

Scarlett was my favorite character. I think she is a very strong character, and I really enjoyed following her throughout the story.

I also found Dante interesting, although he could be a little annoying sometimes. He can be quite self-centered and arrogant, but that also made him an interesting character to read about.

 The Writing

I absolutely love Stephanie Garber’s writing style. It is beautiful, and I’ve really enjoyed all of her books that I’ve read.

Caraval was also pretty easy to understand, but at the same time, the writing completely swept me away into the world—just like the warning about not being swept away by Caraval.

The book made me feel so many different things. It was mysterious, magical, suspenseful, emotional, and sometimes incredibly exciting. I loved how many different emotions the story could create.

⭐ Final Rating

5/5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I absolutely loved Caraval, and I would definitely recommend it. The magical world, unique game, mysterious atmosphere, characters, clues, and twists all come together to create such an amazing reading experience.

I definitely want to read as many Stephanie Garber books as possible.
