The Inheritance Games — Book Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Inheritance Games was SO good. It is honestly one of my favorite books ever, and I would definitely recommend it to someone else.

One of my favorite things about this book was the riddles and the overall vibe. The mystery was amazing, and I loved how unpredictable the story was. There were so many plot twists and high-stakes moments that kept me interested. I especially enjoyed the family secrets because they made me want to keep figuring out what was actually going on.

 Hawthorne House

Hawthorne House is one of the best parts of The Inheritance Games. It’s absolutely huge and has so many different rooms, secret passageways, and tunnels underneath the house. What I love most is that no piece of furniture in Hawthorne House is ever just a piece of furniture. There always seems to be a secret compartment or something hidden inside it. The house feels like another mystery that you have to solve, which makes the whole story even more exciting.

 The Pacing

The pacing was also perfect for me. I absolutely hate slow-paced books, and this one definitely wasn’t. I genuinely could not stop reading. I would tell myself, “just one more chapter,” and somehow I would end up reading ten more. The story always gave me another reason to keep going.

 The Characters

The characters were another huge part of why I enjoyed the book so much. Jameson Hawthorne was probably my favorite because he is such a fun and interesting person, and I really like his personality. I love his competitiveness and the way he is never afraid to take risks. His confidence and willingness to throw himself into the games made him such a fun character to read about.

I also really liked Avery as the main character. She is strong, and I liked how she was able to make her own decisions instead of just relying on everyone else.

I also really liked the relationships between the characters. They worked so well together, and I enjoyed seeing how their relationships developed throughout the story. The Laughlins, however, were a little confusing to me. I didn’t completely understand their story, at least from what we learn in the first book.

 The Writing

I really liked the author’s writing style too. The descriptions were so good that I could clearly visualize the characters and imagine what was happening around them. At the same time, the book was pretty easy to read, so I never felt like the writing was difficult to follow.

⭐ Final Rating

Overall, I would give The Inheritance Games 5 out of 5 stars. It is one of my favorite books, and I would recommend it to almost anyone, regardless of what genre they normally like. I feel like it has a little bit of everything, and the mystery, riddles, characters, plot twists, and high stakes all work together really well.

If you’re looking for a book that will make you say “one more chapter” and then realize you’ve read ten, I would definitely recommend The Inheritance Games.
